PowerColor Shows Off A Triple-Fan Radeon RX 9070 XT Red Devil Edition

Hungry for more power

PowerColor Posts RX 9070 XT Red Devil with Another Angle, Reveals Red Devil Branding and Black Shroud

AMD’s one of the biggest board partners, PowerColor, has once again teased the upcoming RDNA 4 GPU. This is specifically the Radeon RX 9070 XT since it’s the flagship GPU in the RDNA 4 family, which is expected to be revealed at CES. Alongside AMD, PowerColor and other board partners will reveal their own custom editions for improved performance.

The latest X post by PowerColor shows a triple-fan Radeon RX 9070 XT, which is the Red Devil edition as it appears from the logo and design. It boasts a completely black shroud and doesn’t appear to feature RGB lighting, but it could as the predecessor RX 7900 XT Red Devil features RGB lighting as well. One small change is the PowerColor logo on the middle fan, which is different on the 9070 XT but the Red Devil logo on the fan looks similar except that it is now more detailed.

This is the second time PowerColor has teased the same GPU. In the previous post, it posted a pic showing its backplate. It’s difficult to know its details like how thick it is and how many power connectors it will bring, connectivity ports, etc. We heard in some rumors that AIBs might bring up to 3x 8-pin PCI-E power connectors on their flagship editions while the regular designs will be sufficient with 2x 8-pin connectors.

It’s also possible that some of them may accommodate a 12V-2×6 connector on the Radeon RX 9070 GPU but it’s not mandated by AMD. Radeon RX 9070 XT will be the fastest in the RDNA 4 lineup as per reports and will feature the Navi 48 die, featuring 16 GB of GDDR6 VRAM, up to 3.1 GHz boost clock, and 260W of TDP on the reference edition. AIB designs such as the Red Devil edition may bring higher TDPs, with some reaching over 300W.

As of now, no reports about Navi 44 GPUs have emerged and it’s likely that they won’t be released alongside Radeon RX 9070 XT. The RX 9070 XT is going to be unveiled on 7th January and will be soon released worldwide for purchase but the Chinese market will see good availability only in Feburary.
