Nvidia is preparing to launch its RTX 4060 GPUs soon after it launches its RTX 4070 non-Ti the next month. With more new leaks, we have gained info about the launch dates of desktop RTX 4060, and 4060 Ti as well as the brand new RTX 4050 GPU which wasn’t heard of before.
According to Wccftech’s sources, the RTX 4060 and 4060 Ti are planned to launch in May and we also have a pic of the RTX 4060 Ti GPU box by MEGAsizeGPU who has been pretty consistent with his leaks.
MEGAsizeGPU was the one who leaked the box picture of the RTX 4070 Ti last year claiming that the GPU would be available on the 5th Jan this year which was pretty accurate.
Now as Wccftech is also confirming that both RTX 4060 GPUs are coming in May, the information about the official launch is pretty confirmed. However, one more GPU is added to the list which is the Geforce RTX 4050.
MEGAsizeGPU in a recent tweet said that the RTX 4050 is planned to launch in June while the 4060 is not yet decided. This could mean that the launch date for RTX 4060 could have been shifted or it might launch with RTX 4060 Ti according to the original plan.
Release date:
Desktop 4060Ti – end of May
Desktop 4050- June
Desktop 4060- not decided yet— MEGAsizeGPU (@Zed__Wang) March 29, 2023
RTX 4060 Ti GPU is the first to launch at the end of May and is supposedly going to feature the performance of the RTX 3070 Ti while the RTX 4060 will compete with the 3060 Ti.
RTX 4060 Ti will use a cut-down AD106 graphics chip and will feature 4352 CUDA cores while the RTX 4060 non-Ti model will use a full AD107 GPU featuring 3072 CUDA cores.
Both GPUs are going to utilize 8GB of GDDR6 memory and will run on the same 128-bit memory bus. The difference between the two will be the power consumption. While the RTX 4060 Ti will have a TGP of 150-160W, the 4060 non-Ti will be much more power-efficient with a TGP of around 110-115W.
As for the desktop RTX 4050, we currently don’t have any information on its official specs but as the card is launching in June, some leaks are likely to surface in the coming weeks.
UPDATE: When I asked about RTX 4050’s specs, MEGAsizeGPU confirmed that the desktop RTX 4050 will feature 6GB VRAM and will probably feature the same specs as the laptop RTX 4050.
