RTX 3090

The battle between Nvidia and AMD is going for a long time. Previously Nvidia was dominating in the competition of GPUs. However, in past few years, the recent lineup from AMD was able to give some tough competition to Nvidia.

However, a recent survey conducted among steam users, reveals that Nvidia is still a domineering figure in the GPU market. The survey further reveals that RTX 3090 has more market share than all of AMD’s RX 6000 series GPUs.

Most of us are already familiar with the ongoing situation of the GPU market. Due to the increasing number of miners, the GPU shortage issue was observed even before the pandemic. However, things turned worse with the addition of an increasing number of scalpers and a global chip shortage.

The RTX 3090 is the top-of-the-line product from Nvidia not only in terms of performance but also in pricing. Despite the higher pricing of the RTX 3090, it still has a market share of 0.37% while the entire line-up of AMD’s RX 6000 series only has 0.34%.

Let alone about a specific GPU, the overall GPU market share from February till July clearly gives us the difference in a glimpse. The decade-old Nvidia GTX 1060 is still the most popular GPU being used by Steam users.

Therefore, it can be a long day to argue about who is best. But in terms of performance, AMD has improved a lot in terms of performance. The difference between the two rivals in getting narrower day by day. Hopefully, once the pricing and unavailability of GPUs are resolved, we analyze it in a better way.
