NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop Outperforms RTX 4070 Laptop GPU, Leaked Time Spy Score Appears Online

Leaked Benchmark Shows GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU Delivers 32% Uplift Over RTX 4060 Laptop Variant

NVIDIA’s upcoming RTX 50 series is about to enter the market and while we wait for the RTX 50 desktop GPUs, one of the laptop RTX 50 variants has already been spotted online. This is the first time we are actually seeing the performance number of an RTX 50 GPU and that too of a 60-class card, which is targeted at a late Q1 launch.

If you are familiar with the latest RTX 50 leaks, you must have heard about the RTX 5060 GPU. This is the GPU I reported about a few days ago, which will feature 8 GB VRAM for both the desktop and laptop platforms. In a recent benchmark on Time Spy as seen on Bilibili, the RTX 5060 laptop GPU scored a good 13821 points. For comparison, this is 32% higher than the 10441 points achieved by the RTX 4060 laptop GPU.

One of the recent leaks suggested that the GeForce RTX 5060 laptop GPU will be equivalent to the RTX 4070 laptop GPU, which marks a solid 30%+ uplift over the RTX 4060 mobile variant and as per the Time Spy graphics score of the RTX 4070 laptop GPU (12488 points), the RTX 5060 laptop is still 10% faster. This means the RTX 5060 laptop GPUs may come out to be a bit faster in gaming benchmarks as well.

However, this doesn’t always translate exactly to the video games and we may see lower or higher performance, depending on the games being played. Nonetheless, the synthetic results are impressive for sure and if this is the case for the laptop variant, the desktop GPU must be quite faster than the RTX 4060 desktop variant as well.

The RTX 4060 desktop GPU is slightly faster than the notebook variant and if this is also the case with the desktop RTX 5060 compared to its laptop variant, we are still seeing a 30%+ performance uplift, which is what NVIDIA has been offering with every generation. The RTX 5060 laptop GPU is supposedly bringing 8GB GDDR7 memory on a 128-bit bus, similar to the predecessor but not much has been revealed regarding its specifications.

Both the desktop and laptop RTX 5060 GPUs are expected to launch in Q1 2025 but the exact date is still unknown. Meanwhile, the RTX 5080, 5090, and 5070 cards will launch before the 5060 GPUs.
