The RTX 5080 GPU packaging was leaked earlier but has now been confirmed. This means AIBs are ready to unveil their custom RTX 50 series GPUs at CES 2025 after NVIDIA launches Blackwell RTX 50 GPUs.
GALAX RTX 5080 Box Leaks, Clearly Showing the GPU Model Name. Also Indicates RTX 5080 will be the First GPU to Launch in the Series
While we are about to see the launch of NVIDIA’s RTX 50 series GPUs, several leaks have confirmed their supposed specifications, including Acer, which recently prepared its Predator Orion 7000 desktops as well as ZOTAC, which clearly listed the high-end RTX 50 GPUs. However, this is the first time we are seeing an original RTX 50 card box, which was spotted by @RubyRapids.
This is the GALAX GeForce RTX 5080, which was spotted on ngabbs.com but the page has disappeared. Fortunately, the screenshot has already been posted, which reveals the design of the GPU box. The RTX 5080 GPU itself doesn’t appear on the packaging but its naming convention does. If you are wondering if this leak is true, then the answer is yes because Videocardz has just confirmed it with GALAX itself.
The supposed box dimensions are 403 x 279 x 89 mm and it’s possibly a triple-fan design, which usually AIBs release at the launch to show off their flagship GPU’s power. Apart from these small details, not much is visible on the back of the box since the image is small, and after scaling it up, it doesn’t look much different from the GALAX RTX 4080 box. There is some basic info about features like quad-monitor support, RTX On, and some usual advertising.
It’s almost identical to the RTX 4080/Super boxes and no new branding or stuff is visible, which means NVIDIA isn’t releasing any new cutting-edge technology with the launch of this card. Do remember that this is just speculation and we will find more on the CES event, which will see the launch of the RTX 5080. This time, NVIDIA is launching the 80-class card before the 90-class GPU. This is unlike how NVIDIA usually goes with its GPU launches, revealing the flagship one first, followed by slower cards.
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 is reportedly the only card to feature a 30 Gbps of memory speed and the rest of the lineup, including RTX 5090 and others will feature 28 Gbps memory speed. The RTX 5080 will boast 16 GB GDDR7 VRAM on a 256-bit bus and is rumored to feature 10752 Cuda Cores. Here are more specifications of the card vs the previous generation:
