Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is just 4 months old and yet it is still very popular if we go by the number of reviews posted on Steam. Although half of them are negative. Despite that, the game has almost 100,000 concurrent players on PC alone.
Now, the game was rumored to run for at least 2 years but this seems to end right before the end of this year. As per the new reports, a brand new sequel to the Call of Duty Modern Warfare II is being made and this game is supposed to launch in November.
Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier was the first one who said that the call of duty game which was developed by Treyarch is going to delayed to 2024 and therefore, the Modern Warfare II extension will be released in 2023..

Now it is confirmed as CharlieIntel posted on Twitter yesterday that the new Call of Duty is going to release in 2023. Furthermore, the title is being developed by Sledgehammer Games and is also going to have beta weekends and campaign early access.
This report actually comes from Insider-Gaming which verified this information and this new leak suggests that there will be no Premium DLC for ModernWarfare 2 as was thought previously but will be a fully-fledged game.
Yes, it was a premium DLC at some point but Activision changed the idea. So, instead, they are now releasing a completely new game and that can be understood from this report easily because it says that the new game will be heavily connected to the Modern Warfare series.
Insider-gaming also shared the key dates for this un-named call of duty and as I said earlier, there are going to be two Beta Weekends, the first one to be held from 6 to 10 October and the next one from 12 to 16 October.
Here the first beta will exclusively be released for PS4 and PS5 consoles but platforms like Xbox consoles and PC will join the next one. Then there will be an early Access of Campaign mode on all platforms that will be released on 2nd November followed by the full release on the 10th.
As for the story of this game, even though it is going to be connected to Modern Warfare 2, it is going to be a standalone game. The maps are expected to be remastered and a lot of things will be in common with Modern Warfare II.
