CES 2022 is near and will be held from 5th to 8th Jan. Both AMD and Nvidia are expected to showcase their next-gen hardware at the event. While we are still a month away from that event, leaks are suggesting that Asus has prepared their new gaming laptops with next-gen hardware.
According to the reports, the laptop is called ROG Zephyrus Duo GX650 which will be the successor to GX551 and was listed on Bluetooth SIG “Launch Studio”. It is going to come in three different variants each of them having a different model number that suggests a different GPU. These are the GX650RX, GX650RW, and GX650RM. While the RX model is said to feature an AMD graphics card, the RW and RM don’t suggest an already existing graphics card from AMD or Nvidia.
As per mylaptopguide, the GX650 is going to feature an RTX 3080 Ti graphics card. The same site also suggested a few weeks back that Asus’s new ROG Strix Scar 15 G533Z is going to feature AMD Ryzen 6900HX processor and an RTX 3080 Ti. The same CPU-GPU combo is also rumoured to be on the GX650 laptop.
The Ryzen 6000 family is codenamed Rembrandt H and Ryzen 6900HX is an 8 core/16 thread processor that will be based on 6nm process technology. However, it will be using the same Zen 3 architecture that Ryzen 5000 series uses but will be called Zen+. The report about the RTX 3080 Ti being used in the GX650 is not confirmed, so take it with a little bit of salt.
