AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT Spotted in GPU-Z, Revealing 16GB GDDR6 Memory and Other Specs. Benchmarked in Time Spy
While the Radeon RX 9070 XT specifications remain vague, new leaks are surfacing confirming the specifications of this flagship RDNA 4 GPU. Apart from the specs, we also saw leaked benchmarks of the RX 9070 XT, which shows that the RX 9070 XT is on par with the NVIDIA RTX 4080 GPUs. While still early to conclude, the GPU is looking solid against high-end cards from the Ada lineup.
The X user @0x22h has posted a few screenshots, revealing the Radeon RX 9070 XT in GPU-Z and in a few synthetic benchmarks. Even though GPU-Z shows the Radeon RX 7800 XT at the bottom, the GPU die revealed shows Navi 4X and the actual name on top was also hidden. Navi 4X means RDNA 4 architecture and considering that the VRAM mentioned is 16GB GDDR6 from Micron and a 256-bit memory bus, it’s likely the Navi 48 GPU die. With this memory configuration, the GPU delivers about 644.6 GB/s of memory bandwidth, which could reach up to 693 GB/s.
The GPU-Z also reveals 4096 stream processors, which proves earlier reports as well. The GPU clocks mentioned are 2.5 GHz base and 3.06 GHz boost, which confirms early leaks that the RX 9070 XT can boost up to 3.1 GHz. However, this concerns the reference design and the custom AIB editions could be a bit faster. This one is from ASUS and mentions 2025 as the release date.
One more thing to note here is that in the metrics tab, the TDP shows 329W, which confirms previous reports that some custom editions can reach up to 330W of power consumption. We don’t know what edition is this but it could possibly be the ROG Strix or Prime edition with 3x 8-pin PCI-E connectors. This is why some AIBs like ASRock have equipped their flagship editions with a 12V-2×6 connector.
As far as the performance is concerned, it’s looking impressive. While these are only synthetic numbers, they are still giving us a rough idea of where to put the GPU in terms of performance. The Radeon RX 9070 XT delivers 6345 points in Speedway, which is equivalent to the RX 7900 XTX and RTX 4070 Ti Super cards.
On the other hand, the RX 9070 XT comfortably beats the RTX 4080 and RTX 4080 Super cards in 3DMark Time Spy Extreme, delivering 14558 points, which is a 6% uplift over RTX 4080 Super with 13735 points and around 20-25% faster than the RTX 4080. Of course, these are quite different from the gaming benchmarks since there is a 1-2% difference in performance between the RTX 4080 and 4080 Super. It should also be noted that the reports suggest some driver issues, which means the actual performance may differ.
Still, the RX 9070 XT looks good as of now, but it’s unlikely that the GPU will outperform the RTX 4080. In one of the previous reports, we saw AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT within 5% of the RTX 4080 in gaming in select games. That said, you may now check our updated page for the Radeon RX 9070 XT to learn about the GPU in detail.
