AMD Ryzen 5700X3D Tops Amazon Charts, Sells 8000 Units in a Single Day While Core i7 12700K is Intel’s Best Seller

AMD Secures its Hold in the NA Market, Sells Over 63,000 Units in a Single Day on Amazon

The day prior to Christmas saw the biggest single-day CPU sales on Amazon. While AMD has already taken hold of the CPU market for quite some time, the CPU sales on the 24th were significant compared to any other day in 2024. Apart from selling over a whopping 63,000 CPU units in a single day, we saw AMD dominating the top positions in the best-selling CPUs list.

At the time of writing, AMD Ryzen 5 7600X is the number one best-seller on Amazon.com but on the 24th, the AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D was way ahead of any other CPU, selling almost 8000 units in a single day. It was followed by its non-X3D edition with impressive 6000 units sales, and then we have the Ryzen 5 7600X and Ryzen 5 5600X, both selling 6000 units each. The latest Zen 5-based Ryzen 7 9800X3D takes the 5th spot with 5000 unit sales.

Unfortunately for Intel, the only CPU that belonged in the top 10 best-selling CPUs was the Intel Core i7 12700K, which sold a good 2000 units. The second and third best-selling Intel CPUs were the Intel Core i9 14900K and Intel Core i5 12600K, both selling 2000 units each. A quick look at the list shows that Intel Alder Lake is the most popular Intel CPU series at the moment and the Core Ultra 200 series processors hardly sold over 1000 units combined.

All in all, AMD sold 63,100 units on 24th December compared to 19,300 units by Intel. This is a staggering difference of 76.58% and 23.42% CPU sales share, which amounted to about $16,728,938 in revenue for AMD and $4,687,812 for Intel. The average selling price for AMD CPUs was $265, a $23 increase over Intel’s ASP of $242.

This shows the relevance of the Zen 3 X3D chips, which are on par with the modern non-X3D Ryzen and Intel’s 14th gen high-end chips in gaming. The $200 price tag makes the 5700X3D pretty attractive, while still giving users 8-cores and 16-threads for multi-tasking and intensive productivity workloads. Even in most parts of the world, the Ryzen 7 5700X3D sells like hotcakes and AMD has already maintained its dominance quite convincingly in overall CPU sales.
