AMD just sent its review kit containing a slide where it compares its new Ryzen 7 7800X3D to Intel’s Core i9 13900K in video games.
It’s not the first time AMD is sharing its 7800X3D performance as last month, AMD showed a slide where the 7800X3D was providing 20% higher performance than the 13900K. However, the CPUs were tested in only 4 games and those were particularly cherry-picked that favor 3D CPUs more.
The new chart shows that the Ryzen 7800X3D is roughly 7% faster on average when compared across 21 games ranging from competitive eSports titles like CSGO to modern AA titles like Horizon Zero Dawn and others.
The 7800X3D beats the i9 13900K quite comfortably in some games providing 10-30% more performance but in some games, it is just as good as the Intel chip while remaining behind in some titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Rainbow Six Siege, AotS, and CSGO.
Although these numbers won’t be 100% correct as they are from the company itself, the third-party benchmark numbers should be somewhat close.
This makes the 7800X3D as good as the 7950X3D while being $250 cheaper. The 78000X3D is planned to launch on 6th April at an MSRP of $449 which is $50 more than the price of the 7700X.
This puts the Core i9 13900K in a good place because its price has seen a significant reduction in the past few months and it’s now down to $500 from $600.
Ryzen 7 7800X3D is perhaps the most talked about gaming CPU in the past few months and enthusiast gamers who don’t want to spend $700 on the 7950X3D can look at this more affordable option.
Nonetheless, when we compare the pricing of CPUs from both sides, it would be better if AMD reduces 7800X3D’s price to $400.
