NVIDIA RTX 50 Series Laptop GPU Specifications Leaked: RTX 5050 to RTX 5090 GPUs Listed for ASUS Gaming Laptops

Typical downgrade over the desktop variants

The RTX 5090 seems a bit too nerfed as if its memory bus has been reduced. While not in the table, it looks exactly how NVIDIA went with the laptop RTX 4090 variant. As for other GPUs, it looks like a similar story but the memory type is thankfully the same.

Six RTX 50 Series Laptop SKUs Revealed in a Specsheet for ASUS ROG Gaming Laptops, Will be Paired with Strix Halo and Core Ultra 200H/HX Processors

There are a few surprises in this leak and it’s one of the biggest ones on the NVIDIA Blackwell gaming GPUs. The leak gives us a sneak peek at the upcoming ASUS ROG gaming laptops that will be available in several configurations, bringing newer CPUs and GPUs together.

Surprisingly some of the models are also listed on a few retail websites but obviously, you can’t buy them at the moment. More on that later but here is what the RTX 50 series laptop GPUs will bring to the table.

  1. GeForce RTX 5090 laptop: 16GB GDDR7
  2. GeForce RTX 5080 laptop: 16GB GDDR7
  3. GeForce RTX 5070 Ti laptop: 12GB GDDR7
  4. GeForce RTX 5070 laptop: 8GB GDDR7
  5. GeForce RTX 5060 laptop: 8GB GDDR7
  6. GeForce RTX 5050 laptop: 8GB GDDR7

Apparently, the RTX 5050 laptop GPU isn’t bringing the GDDR6 memory but the GDDR7. If this is true, then the desktop RTX 5050 variant should also bring the GDDR7 memory, unlike what was rumored before. The budget and mid-range cards for the laptops, including the RTX 5050, RTX 5060, and RTX 5070 will all bring 8GB VRAM but the RTX 5070 Ti will feature 12GB VRAM and both the upper high-end and flagship GPU will have the same 16GB memory configuration.

It’s highly likely that like the RTX 5080, the RTX 5090 will also bring a 256-bit memory bus width, which is similar to what we have seen on the RTX 4090 laptop variant. The desktop RTX 5090 is said to feature a 512-bit bus, which means the memory bandwidth on the RTX 5090 laptop variant will be significantly reduced. Apart from the memory configurations, the operating TDPs have also been leaked in the table. The cards will bring a TDP range of 140-175W but it’s unclear what will be the TDP for the RTX 5050 and RTX 5060.

One of the laptop configurations includes the Ryzen 9 AI Max+ 395 APU but without any discrete GPU. Apart from AMD’s Strix Halo, almost all other models come with an RTX 50 GPU. These are the Zen 4-based high-end CPUs as well as the upcoming Intel Arrow Lake, Core Ultra 200H, and 200HX series processors.

We should be hearing more about these processors and the GPUs in the coming days before eventually launching at CES in January. As for the pricing, three of these laptop models were listed on a few retailers: two on Platinum Selection and one on Lambda-tek. These are the ROG Strix Scar 18 G835LX, ROG Strix SCAR G835LW, and ROG Strix G16 GN22-X7.
