Nvidia Announces the RTX 4060 and 4060 Ti GPUs, Pricing and Specs Revealed

Today, Nvidia officially announced the RTX 4060 GPUs comprising all three SKUs that are set to launch this month and in July.

While the RTX 4060 Ti 8GB will be launched first on the 24th of this month, the 4060 Ti 16GB and 4060 8GB will be launched in July. The company also showed the performance benchmarks of the RTX 4060 GPUs comparing them to the last gen mid-range cards where one can clearly see where the ADA cards stand.

Even though these are the company’s own benchmarks, they are pretty much where we expected. The RTX 4060 Ti 8GB and 16GB are both 13% more powerful than the 3060 Ti 8GB from the last generation and the 4060 non-Ti outperforms the RTX 3060 by 18%.

That said, the RTX 4060 Ti is inferior to the 3060 Ti in some of its specs, like 11% fewer Cuda Cores and half the memory bus width. Nvidia deliberately removes this data from the specs comparison table because this is the first time the following generation cards feature lower Cuda cores and narrower memory bus width.

The RTX 4060 Ti 8GB and 16GB cards look very identical in performance when tested at 1080p max settings in various games. As usual, Nvidia also adds performance bars when the Frame Generation is turned on.

Still, the gap between the RTX 4060 Ti and 3060 Ti is much lower than what we saw between the 3060 Ti and 2060 Super. This shows that despite the weak GPU market, Nvidia does not care about increasing its performance even after charging a premium price for 8GB cards.

The RTX 4060 is set to launch at $299 while the 4060 Ti 8GB and 16GB will be launched for $399 and $499 respectively.

Just after the official announcement by Nvidia, several AIBs joined and announced their custom edition cards that are set to launch on the 24th of this month.
