Earlier today, Intel released a new graphics driver update coined 30.0.100.9955. The main purpose of this update is to provide support for Windows 11 dynamic refresh rate on products that are coming with Windows 11 or will get the update first hand.
However, the update is not limited to only the above-said feature. In addition to that, Intel DCH 30.0.100.9955 also brings along certain changes in order to enhance the gaming and productive performance of Windows 10 as well.
Earlier few issues have been observed from some gaming titles like Cyberpunk 2077 with DX12, Hitman 2 with DX12, and Wolfenstein. But with this update, Intel addressed those issues as well. Furthermore, Intel also enhanced support for H264 and HEVC DX12 video encode on Windows 11 machines using the chipmaker’s Iris Plus GPU and higher.
Microsoft’s Dynamic refresh rate system can only be used if one has Windows 11 version 21H2, a display that supports a variable refresh rate (VRR) along with a refresh rate of at least 120Hz. Also, it should have Intel Iris Graphics and should support the WDDM 3.0 driver.
The Dynamic refresh rate system is capable of optimizing refresh rate with optimized power efficiency. The new feature enables your system to automatically switch refresh rates based on your use. According to the sharted information, these features will be rolled out to users via Windows Update in the coming days.
